Entrefluencer…..Influpreneur…?

We made a huge decision 2 weeks ago and now I’m just wishing we’d started sooo much sooner! Let me explain….

When we first launched Gummee, the vision we had was quite simple. Create a brand, be internationally successful. I shared every step of the journey on my personal facebook page and looking back now, I WISH I’d shared it from the beginning on the Gummee social media. I wish I’d blogged about it regularly. I realise now that that is exactly what I should have been doing, rather than just sharing on my personal facebook page. Instead, we ran Gummee as though it were a big, impressive brand. It was what we were advised to do. Stay professional. Keep it clean and perfect and polished and brand focused.

For the last three and a half years, we have been doing a live video ‘show’ across our social media, called Gummee tea time. During those shows, even though I found them terrifying for at least the first two years, I have made some wonderful friends through them, and we’ve introduced, spoken about and demonstrated countless other parent-owned brands and products. I empathise so much with Parentpreneurs/Entrepreneurs just starting out, and love to support them if I can, and a great way to do that is by showing them to my engaged followers.

With the hard times we went through last year, we felt like we were being lead in a certain direction. It was as if the universe was pushing us into a whole new approach with the business. We’ve spent almost 7 years of working incredibly hard to build our brand and reputation.

So back to the big decision – *GULP* We have decided to run our family business as just that, a family business and online blog. Our lives is a big mush-up of business and family, and there isn’t really a work-life balance…..it is a happy, mushed up mix of our life. Across our social media platforms, we have over 179,000 followers.

As mentioned above, we have been promoting other small parent-owned business’s, brands and  products for over 3 years, and it only seems fitting that we make our overall on-line presence more of a complete package – if that makes sense? You know when you just feel something is absolutely the right thing to do, in your gut? That is how we feel about it.

So I have designed our Media Kit, and we’ve had lots of offers of work already. None of it is paid work, but the ones I have agreed to are products/brands that we already use and love or would like to try, and I’m so excited to be able to create fun vlogs and posts with the kids. I’ll be using Instagram TV,  Youtube & Facebook to share the videos, and we’ve set up a fab looking ‘set’ to do demo video’s from – the set is Gummee branded, obviously 😉

This is going to make us slightly busier, but it’s going to work brilliantly because its going to be fun for us to do as a family, as well as boost our Gummee brand profile.

I’ll keep you updated – in the mean time I’d love to know your thoughts?

gLOVE,
